About Me.

My name is Georgia Strump and I am currently a student at FSU. Growing up, my best friend had Down Syndrome. Seeing her get excluded from the other girls and getting stared at everywhere we went always hurt considering these people are judging her for her looks, without even knowing her. Her mom has told me a few times that my friend, Ellie, is only where she is because of our friendship. Which is something not all people with Downs experience. Having friends betters mental states and overall quality of life. This is why I want to promote social inclusion. Once typical people start to see that those born Downs are the warmest and most loving individuals, they just may start to have less bias, start to socially include, and overall become more loving and excepting.
